Tasks:
Planted: butternut squash, pumpkins, cauliflower, saved cantaloupe, cucumbers, Chinese noodle beans (for the second time)
Went junking
Weeded/Cultivated: big tomato plot- including brussel sprouts, broccoli, squash. Herb garden, peas, eggplant, cabbage, and straight squash, peppers, onions, and leeks.
Emailed faculty/staff to come get our greens and excess plants.
Potted-on: butternut squash and other squash
Weed-wacked and mowed EVERYWHERE in preparation for the Golden Scots
Picked up flags from Farm King to mark what beds are good to pick from.
Moved the chalkboard so the guests could see it as they come to the garden
Collected approximately 5 pounds of greens for the Alumni dinner
Pulled flowers from plants in herb garden and from greens.
Cleaned up the garages
Potted some chamomile, daisies, spare strawberries and a tomato and placed around the house/garden.
At Farm-
Cultivated strawberries
Got the truck stuck and unstuck.
Notes
Farm: The ground was too wet to drive the tiller out, the truck was stuck carrying tools. The ground also seems too compact to prepare for planting manually. We will wait for the ground to dry and bring the plow/tiller to plant the melons, gourds, and squash.
Also, we’re waiting on the alfalfa to be cleared from the new farms so that we can prepare the land and begin construction on the high tunnel.
