Notes:
Fruiting: The tomatoes are beginning to produce fruit as well as our fruit trees!
Pumpkin/Squash leaves: The leaves around the base of these plants were looking yellow. It might have been due to them adjusting to being transplanted, or because they needed water, or because the soil was in poor condition. We shouldn’t till the soil when it is too wet. The plot is full of large hard chunks that cannot be cultivated or broken all by hand. We watered the plants considerably and put handfuls of compost around each one. They seem to be doing better.
Yellowing Brassicas: The lower leaves of the brassicas were yellowing and looking gross. Last year’s log mentioned rot and suggested breaking the leaves from the plant. We removed the sickly looked leaves and they plants look well.
